Presente - Um livro pra aumentar o seu vocabulário!!!

Boa tarde, galera. Naquele intuito de estar sempre trazendo material adequado para o estudo da língua, é com muita alegria que nesta semana estou trazendo um material inglês muito bom, da Super Duper Publications. O nome do livro é Vocabulary Building (ou em português, construção de vocabulário) e é exatamente disso que trata o livro: exercícios para aumentar o seu vocabulário e a sua capacidade de se comunicar usando antônimos, sinônimos, homófonos e homógrafos.

Além disso, é muito bom porque é completamente ilustrado, o que torna mais leve, certo? Pode inclusive ser utilizado por professores de inglês para enriquecer suas aulas. Na verdade, este livro é destinado a adolescentes nativos de língua inglesa, mas funciona perfeitamente com não nativos (como nós, brasileiros) de nível básico até intermediário. E TRAZ AS RESPOSTAS no final do livro.

English Drops #5 - Say or Tell?

Olá pessoal! No episódio de hoje trabalharemos a tão confusa diferença entre SAY e TELL. Para isso, contaremos com a ajuda de grandes artistas, cujas letras vc encontra nos links abaixo:

Além disso, falarei de algumas expressões (idioms) muito utilizadas na língua inglesa, que são os seguintes:

=== EXPRESSÕES COM SAY ===
- I’ll say - Eu concordo completamente. (Used for emphasis)
Ex: Did the children all enjoy Aunt Sally's pie? I'll say!

- never say die - Não desista

- say one's piece - dizer abertamente o que vc pensa, especialmente se for algo previsível.

- say uncle - admitir a derrota, desistir
Ex: Bob fought for five minutes, but he had to say uncle.

- say-so - Aprovação, permissão.
Ex: Father got angry because I took his new car out without his say-so.

- says who – Eu não acredito ou aceito isso (esta expressão é usada para afrontar ou ridicularizar alguém)
Ex: "She's my girl." "Says who?"

=== EXPRESSÕES COM TELL ===
- I'll tell you what – Eu tenho uma idéia
Ex: The hamburger stand is closed, but I'll tell you what, let's go to my house and cook some hot dogs.

- a little bird told me - Quando vc ouviu algo de uma fonte secreta
Ex: "Who told you that Dean Smith was resigning?" Peter asked. "A little bird told me," Jim answered.

- tell a thing or two – repreender.
Ex: When John complained about the hard work, his father told him a thing or two.

- tell apart – perceber a diferença entre
Ex: The teacher could not tell the twins apart.

Depois de alguns pequenos probleminhas técnicos, vamos lá com o novo episódio!!

Olha só, no nosso episódio de hoje vamos falar sobre o superlativos: o que são e como utilizar. Pra isso é importante saber que:

INFERIORIDADE --> the least + adjetivo/advérbio (Susan is the least smart girl in the class)

SUPERIORIDADE
PALAVRAS COM 1 SÍLABA (OU 2, TERMINADAS EM Y) --> the ...EST (Bill Gates is the richest man in the US)

PALAVRAS COM 2 OU MAIS SÍLABAS --> the most ...
Gisele Bündchen is the most beautiful top model from Brazil.
